Though the original Montgomery house had large rooms, they were so cut up that the entire house felt cramped and dark. Using Andrew Bozeman’s plan the owners and their builder Bob Allie, opened up the house with arches, columns and high, stepped ceilings. “I created very long sight lines,” Bozeman said, “You can stand in the Den and see past columns through the Dining Room to the Front Door, and through the Lounge all the way into the Master Suite. The visual layering created by the columns, walls and ceilings adds a sense of grand scale. But the reflection of natural and indoor light gives a soothing softness.

Andrew Bozeman creates a sense of depth and height by layering surfaces and lighting. His technique works extremely well and provides a feeling of space and comfort that says, “Welcome home.”

Delightfully large, antique front doors, ten feet tall ( upper left photo) welcome you into the Lounge,where light, shadow and design enhance height, depth and elegance.

The original house a - WW II Ranch with a confusing mixture of styles is now rennovated into the owners dream - a Tuscan Estate ideally suited for gracious living. The Dining Room viewed from the Den (below left) and the Foyer (below right) shows that layers of light and shadow can create grand scale - a standard feature in Andrew Bozeman Designs.
